What are these patches on my african cichlid?
I have had my 17 cichlids in a 125 gallon aquarium for a couple years without any issues. Yesterday when I was feeding them I noticed that one of my ice blue zebras didn't come out to eat so I was looking for him and saw him dash from one hiding spot to another with white spots on him. I panicked and put him in a seperate tank. At first I thought it was ich but then on closer inspection I could see that these specks are actually scales that are turned up. There's nothing on his fins (they look fine and not frayed) but there's patches on his tail (before his fin) and a small patch on the side of his back. On side view it looks like pale patches but side view you could see it almost like fungus but it seems to be more like his scales are coming up then something over his skin. Any idea what this is and how to treat it? Should I also treat my 125 gallon that he was in? None of the other cichlids are showing any symptoms yet.
