Woa, crazy. Never seen a giant hill right in the middle... is that just a huge pile of the substrate? (must be, otherwise the substrate would just slip down the side, I would think)
I'm curious how that's holding up, have the rocks moved around? an updated pic might be cool.
Really sweet idea, I dig it

its actually quite common. And you apparently put rocks down and cover it with stubstrate and put in cardboard peices to make sure it doesn't fall. Its Phillip, not Origami.

Thanks Philip, that makes more sense that just a huge pile. Doing it that way you could kind of sculpt the hill... hmm, I'm intrigued, I've seen a lot of tanks and I can't believe this is the first time I've seen this.
How does the cardboard not break down? Maybe it's just that the water doesn't get to it...?

cardboard doesn't seem too. I don't know.
See "Natures Chaos aquascape" on youtube for an amazing 30 minute vid of building an enourmous aquascape plus commentary.
