Shark Behaved Catfish
Anyone Knowing about the Samon Tailed Catfish or fork tailed catfish would know that they just usually swim up and down around the sides of the tank normally.
In a weird turn of events my 7 inch Salmon tail has decided that it will swim mid level of the tank like a shark on the prowl, also it will even attack the feeder fish intended for the barramundi he lives with is this normal???
The irony is he look similiar to a real ocean shark

It is not that unusual for them to swim in open water, especially not when they grow larger. They are predatory fish that feeds on small fish among other things in the wild so it is nothing strange that he starts hunting the feeder fish (my guess is that he is growing large enough to consider them food). It might even be the feeder fish that triggers him to prowl mid water.
I would just sit back and enjoy seeing him hunt.

It is a species of moray found in the Red Sea. Below are some more picture of them from my last trip there.

I'm hoping to write more about them soon in the blog.

Perhaps. I got a soft spot for morays. But that species only grows to about 3ft and I prefer the larger species like this one:

Another picture from the Red Sea.
Sorry about the bluish tone. Didn't have a red filter for the camera.
