Zebra Danios mating? or fighting?
Hi all. So I recently put 4 zebra danios in my 20 gallon high tank to help it cycle. From what I can tell, its 2 males and 2 females. 1 female seems to be the "alpha" as she swims near the top and chases the other ones if they get to close to her zone. Anyway, this morning after feeding, the 2 males are all over this other female. Its not like their normal chasing game, they seem to actually get in little 3-5 second tussles. I was just wondering if this was how they fertilized eggs, or should I be worried about the females safety? Thanks in advance for the tips!

Ok. That's kind of what I figured, I just wanted to be safe. Im watching them more and now they seem to be nibbling through the gravel. Im assuming they are eating the eggs? My substrate is just gravel so I doubt any eggs will survive this feeding frenzy. This is prpbably a good thing bc I don't want any fry to hatch during the cycle.
