Sun dried BBA - turns purple
So... here's a rather fascinating fact that I suppose could be used as a diagnostic tool in IDing BBA.
Did you know that BBA left out to dry in the sun will turn purple? Like almost fluorescent violet.
The following two images are of rocks I took out of my micro tank(20G L) where I have been 90% certain the issue was BBA as it was furry dark leaves and dark crud on my hard surfaces. (Which looks a bit like diatoms until it grows out more) Well these two rocks got taken out a couple months ago when I moved the tank from the guest room to the kitchen. They were left on the cabinet near the window... and as I'm getting together my rocks and picking things up... here's how they look now:

Anyway... thought it was kind of interesting.
