    my gold severum are having red fins near their gills and some have cuts on thier bodies. why???????????????. and wat can i do??

    hmmm what do you mean when you say red fins near the gills?
    Is there anything the they can cut themselves on in the tank.

    any other signs that van help us understand which disease we are dealing with. How is the water quality.

    the wings or watever that are near thier gills are red and they have a red line through their body. water is clean my friend said ammonia might be high isit true?

    Yes: Checking the ammonia levels is highly recommended since it can cause some of the problems you fish sounds to be suffering from.

    are the catfish with the poisonous fin able to be kept with other fish? caus i just added 3 with my koi and my convicts and 4 days later my koi died

    it sound to me like they got what is called, Reddening of body and fins.

    the bottle of Pimafix will take care of that. if it not to late.

    i see it alot in others peoples fish.

    but this is just my 2 cent worth, for what it worth.

    plus if that ,what they got. salt will help.

    i dont know about the species of catfish but the shop owner said their fins were poisonous and if i were to touch it id end up in hospital. so yer. and as for rollie my brother said the same thing to put salt wen i rang him today. he said it heals the wounds. i was like wow. didnt know salt heal fish wounds.

    It does help heal, but more so it prevents infection
