As far as # of fish I wouldn't add much more, If anything I would maybe add 1 or 2 cory's. Do you know if you have a Male and Famele Honey Gourami? If you have 2 males I could see potential issues there. I am assuming this is around a 29 to 40 gallon tank??? What are your water parameters specifically? "Normal" meaning what? There isn't a "Normal" PH, or Nitrate as these tend to vary with the water coming from your specific tap, some tap water may even have traces of ammonia. The filter you are running if my memory serves me is good for up to like 100 gallons of water so thats really good. It's alway a good idea to add a 2nd filter, in your case it wouldn't need to have much water flow bc of what you already have, a Cheap HOB (Aquaclear 50?) would work great in helping during filter cleanings, moving of fish into hospital tanks, quarintine tanks etc.
Main question I have is how many gallons of water is your tank? Im sure someone else here has a way to tell with the tank dimensions... After that the water parameters individually will help.
Cory's like sand, but do OK with gravel, sometimes they lose their little whisker barb thingy's from gravel which isn't ideal, but I've done it... Maybe you could consider a different substrate, or different bottom dweller?
