  1. Cool bolivian ram setup

What would be the optimal stocking and set up for a Bolivian ram in a twenty gallon high? In your opinion.

    Common decency...imagine the nerve!

+1, but the difficultly lies in getting the mated pair. Putting a male with a female doesnt guarantee a pair but if your LFS was to have one, that'll work nicely for you in that setup with some plants.

Sounds good I think I will be sticking with 1 BR for now and later if I want to breed then I will.

I echo the above advice. From my exp. I have had fairly easy luck on pairing GBRs. Though while experimenting to see if a male would mate with two females I discovered some interesting things. 1. the male isn't too locked into the pairing. 2. the paired female will fight with the intruding female. 3. once the winner causes the other to change her colors to submissive, the dominate male will stick with the winner.
After witnessing this, I purchased a juvie male for the losing female and they immediately paired up.

But then again, all this was with GBRs. I've not had Bolivians, so don't know how much will translate. Good luck and I'd look for the already paired up in the sale tank.

This will give you a bit more of an idea about the Bolivians.

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark
