Sorry about the loss of your fish. Bummer.
Look at that adorable boy! I think he's saying "now that I'm here, we're gonna need a bigger tank.....".

Thanks gronlaura! Appreciate it. =]
I'm actually thinking about rounding up all of the rest of the tetras and bringing them back to Petsmart. Not sure if I'd get anything from them, but it'll prevent more deaths from occurring in my tank. That being said, it looks like my tank should be ok with the following species:
Black Ruby Barbs (up to 2.4")
Tiger Barbs (up to 2.5")
Colombian Tetras (up to 2.5")
Buenos Aires Tetras (up to 3-3.5")
I'm leaning toward the Black Ruby Barb, since the Tigers are probably more aggressive than I'd prefer. I have semi-aggressive fish that are fairly aggressive to peaceful fish, so something with a little bite would probably work best. Of the Tetras, I'd probably opt for the Colombian, due to their smaller size and temperament, which really puts it in line with the Black Ruby Barb). The above are also suitable to my water params.
So, I guess when all is said and done, I have two options:
1. Black Ruby Barbs
2. Colombian Tetras
Both are equally suitable for the tank and I think would look fantastic against the plants. If nothing else is wrong with them, say disease/bad breeding/etc, they should do nicely in this semi-aggressive planted tank.

Now that I think of it, however... the Golden Wonders prefer at least a 5' hardness and they've been flourishing in the tank. Maybe they just have an easier time adapting or the Serpaes are just a product of bad breeding and I'm overthinking things again.
Edit: Nevermind... there's conflicting information about their water hardness param requirements. Some say 2-8', 1-8' and others say 5-20'. I'm thinking they're probably good on the softer side of things, so the tank is right for them. ;/

Hey, thanks guys, I appreciate it. =]
It's always good to hear "bad breeding" as a cause. Lord knows I've tried everything. haha
I think I'll put in an order for the Black Ruby Barbs today (if I can find them) and take back the Serpaes + Black Phantom today or tomorrow. Kind of sick of watching fish die. I'm down to 7 tetras total, when I started out with 20 - 10 of each. After I lost all of my Black Phantoms, save for 1, I added more Serpaes to bring them up to 12. Now I'm down to 6 + 1... (all purchased from Petsmart, btw). That being said, I purchased my Raph cats, Killifish and GBRs from Petsmart, too... so, I don't think Petsmart is to blame, but whoever they purchase from certainly is. When I bring them back, I'll be sure to make certain they know that these tetras are problem fish, in that it's a problem that they continue to die.
I'm thinking of doing 15-20 of the Barbs.

They keep salt in all of their aquariums? Do you know what their qt procedures are? I've never asked.
I just looked up Segrest and checked if they served anyone locally. Looks like the closest store is in Centreville, VA, but I've never seen that store before. Looks like they might not be there anymore... I'll check.

The Black Ruby barbs would be a great addition to your tank. The males take on a deep purple color when in the mood to spawn; thus there other common name; the "purple headed barb".
That being said; you can't go wrong with Columbian also LOL.Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

lol, awesome video. I love how the Gourami just stopped to see what they were doing. You can imagine what's going on in his head.
