Kevin, I found this cool video of Dwarf cichlids in the wild, and thought of you and any other DC lovers.

Great video, Lee. Thanks for sharing. The narrator sounds like a German Patrick Stewart. ;P

So, my tank hit a rough patch this week. It appears that one of my BRBs came down with Dropsy and my Gourami had a little pimple-sized bump on his head that broke and now he's got a white patch where that was. Not sure if that means if he's healing or it's a sign of hole-in-head. ;/ I just dosed Fungus Guard to see if that'll help with the Dropsy, but I know this is a hard disease to come back from. I hope it works. He's been lethargic the last couple of days, but I just noticed how bloated he got today and his scales appear to be sticking out (just a tad, but enough to notice). Hoping for the best!

Not sure what's up with the Gourami... she seems healthy enough, very active and eats plenty, but that sore on her head has me a little worried.

Same goes. It's so frustrating, isn't it? You do all you can do and yet something still happens. Hope they both come out of it okay.

Thanks guys. I have a feeling these symptoms are due to the high nitrates I've had of late. It's been hell trying to get them down to a reasonable level. I finally got them down to 10-20ppm last night, but I'm really hoping those new plants start to take hold and begin to grow. They're nitrate busters, so they're the key to getting back to 0ppm again. Never should have gone low light in there. ;/ Curses!
