Hill Stream Loaches/ Borneo Suckers...?

Is there anyone here besides myself that keeps these fish? I'm very interested in swapping notes and tips about these awesome little fish.

I believe Kingfisher kept a hillstream loach tank before. All I know is that they like rocks and current.

Yeah, I think kingfisher had a thread on it. I'm sure there was loads of rocks and powerheads at one end making a string current for them.

Probably one of my favorite types of fish, ive had my 29 gallon hillstream up for a while now... over 3 years I think... Ive got several species of gastromyzon in there as well as a trio of both chinese fire fins and pandas. School of vietnamese white clouds and somewhere around 750 gph going through it. Probably my favorite tank.

hello Jacko. I've had my Hill streams for just over a month. they are all pseudogastromyzon myers. So my fish dealer tells me anyway.

What do you feed yours? I can't seem to interest mine in anything except the algae they graze on. I've put algae wafers in their tank and some have eaten them, but mostly they seem to prefer to graze. I also bought some spirulina tablets for them. Same kinda half assed interest.

they're lively and active in a 42g with some current. (I can see the plants waving) I bought them a power filter a few weeks ago, when I switched it on, it blew the shrimp all over the place and the HSL sitting in the blast buried himself in the sandy substrate. I'm going to try a less powerful one when i find one. Any suggestions?

Aside from these two concerns, they seem happy enough, they spend quite a bit of time in the tank's open space in the daytime and as I said, are pretty active. Any advice you can give me, I'd be extremely grateful for.

PS: my semi completed river tank is my fav too. These fish fascinate me.

Hill stream loaches are cool fish but need cold water and fast current.
