catching my shrimp?
so im upgrading my shrimp to a 10g tank, but that leaves me with the question on how to catch them all. last time i counted i had 24 babies hanging on the wall and im guessing countless others hanging out in the java moss.... any ideas how i should go about catching all the small shrimp? i was maybe thinking a snail like trap for them, empty the tank of all decorations and just wait but the problem is the 5.5 has all the items i need to get the 10g ready. i think im going to try to salvage the sand as well but i might not because my black sand is turning white. any advise on catching the babies?

Maybe make a food trap, put food in a net and then scoop them out. Or suck them out with something, not sure if anything will suck them up without damaging them, though.

So many different ways to try to catch baby shrimp. A bottle trap will work. I use a brine shrimp net, it's like a regular net but the mesh on it is finer. You could use a gravel vac to suck up the shrimp into a container. Another thought is to use a turkey baster, they an work rather well in catching very small shrimp.

try a small jar/glass
I used a small glass to catch my shrimps. When they are spooked they swim into the glass. Do not chase them, just wait for the shrimp to go into the glass and scoop up.
Then place the glass into the other tank and let shrimp go.
