    Should be fine with tetras and most likely shrimp but I have never really dealt with shrimp so I do not know for sure.

    GBRs are great with peaceful small tetars like cardinals, neons, and such. I would advise agaisnt dwarf shrimp. They will be eaten by almost all fish and they hide when kept with fish all the time so no sense in getting them. The only shrimp i would risk are amano or bamboo shrimp, becausr they are bigger.

    GBR's are mostly compatible with fish that are peaceful and not nippers.

    What are your stock in that 55G?
    Da name's Paul. Not Dave. ROFL

    Learn to give and take. That's how things should always work.

    I had a pair of GBR's thrive in a community tank for a long time, the tank mates included;
    Angels, Serpae Tetra, Neons, Pearl Gouramis, cory's, Gold nug pleco

    Worked well for me, each circumstance is obviously different, my experiences are not hard facts.
    55 Gal- Fluval 305 & Aqua Clear 70;
    2 Gold Veil Angels, 1 GBR, 1 Gold Nugget Pleco, and 11 pesky Zebra Danio's.
