Thread: JD compatibility

Moved from a different section of the forum...
Wanted to kick things off with this question, and apologies if this thread has already been covered.
I have a 55 gallon tank with one JD male, and was wanting to place a Red Wolf Fish, Erythrinus erythrinus, in with him. Have found a place called Aquascape online that periodically sells them.
Fully appreciate these things are subjective, all depends on the fish but any experience with this combo would be great to hear about.
Thanks in advance

A JD will get big and aggressive so I would not suggest putting it with any other fish in a tank that size. I just think the JD will try to dominate and most likely succeed in doing so. I don't know much about the other fish you have mentioned but a JD with tankmates in a 55 is probably not a great idea no matter what the other fish are.

I would suggest a little bit larger of a tank. If your JD grows to it potential max size of around 10 inches, he might be a little cramped in there. But that is only based on what I have read.
I also deleted your other thread asking the same questionIf you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

To be honest that's what my gut told me. Will wait for a bigger tank. Thanks for the response, and the removal of the other thread. Much appreciated
