I got a problem!!
I have a breeding pair in a tank on their own for more then 6 months. All of a sudden the male is attacking the female none stop. The female laid eggs yesterday everything seemed to be fine. Today again I see the female in a corner all beat up. What should I do??

You pull somebody out STAT!
I have said it before and I will say it again: It is swift and brutal when it goes bad, It's not going to get any better.
3 angels is a terrible number for that tank anyway. And your balas will outgrow it also btw.

I said they are in a tank on their own... the 3 angels are in the main tank. The breeding pair are in a tank of their own.

For what ever reason the male has decided the female is unsuitable. He will continue to attack her until she is dead. Move one of them out.
If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.

Yes, I know this.I said they are in a tank on their own... the 3 angels are in the main tank. The breeding pair are in a tank of their own.
You see, It is why I said: "3 angels is a terrible number for that tank anyway" - Which referred to the tank the 3 angels are actually in & I stand by it . . . Moving on.
As mentioned you need to have them separated.

I'm not a pro on this subject by any means, but it seems to me an imperfect solution is better than a dead fish. The female has eggs in there, so unless the male will tend to them (will he? anyone?) get him out and in whatever you can hold him in until something better can be found. A bucket, a horse trough, anything. He might not be comfortable, but again, its better than one of them dead. Let the female heal and tend to the eggs, if she still can, and start looking for a more long term solution than the temporary holding pen. Hell even one of those cheap dividers you can get would be something. If you can leave her on the side with the eggs and quarantine him on the other, they might be a little cramped but it would be a temporary solution.

So you have 3 angelfish in total but a mated pair is in the breeder, if I have that right? I don't know what size this breeding tank is but it could be they simply aren't getting along now due to space. Often the eggs are eaten, as well, and he may consider those eggs are for him so trying to keep her away from them. Who knows? They're cichlids.
But there is no reason to try to have babies unless you have tanks for growing them out and buyers for them. Angels spawn every two weeks so it's a continuous deal. If you had removed the eggs, they may have stopped fighting but perhaps you need to leave him in that tank and move the female back into the other tank. Again, that depends on that breeder tank size and I certainly hope that is not the 10 gallon listed in your signature.
Needless to say, 3 angels can't be together but bala sharks also don't belong in 46 gallons.Cycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••
