Feeding shrimps green water schedule?

so i've been replacing the evaporated water from my 10 gallon with green water from my pond to feed my shrimps, and wondering if i should be doing this every week or less. it's just under a gallon of water a week.

This is a new one on me. I have shrimp and never gave them green water from a pond for feeding. Wouldn't that be stagnant water?

What's the matter with algae pellets, cucumber, sinking pellets or a few flakes now and then?

i read for babies that green water was better being it's small enough for them to eat and filter out of the water. my tank is no longer green in about 4 hours.

i give other food also. but wanted to know how often i should give it.

and my pond isn't stagnet by any means. it has a pump for a waterfall/bucket filter and one for a fountain.

OK. I was picturing in my head some old green stagnant pond. I do nothing special for mine. Now and then I think my population is dwindling but I drop a slice of cucmber in the tank and within minutes it's covered with them so guess they are just hiding pretty well.

If you have a filter in your shrimp tank, i think it's unnecessary to feed them green water as the filter will just probably catch it before your shrimps does.

only filters are a undergravel and a sponge, hoping to remove the undergravel soon.

The only shrimp that require green water for feeding are filter shrimps. I would suggest grinding up algea wafers or whatever you are feeding your shrimp for the baby shrimp. That way it will settle on the bottom so it is easier for the babies to find it.

I feed my shrimps every other day.
