Tanganyika Cichlids (new to me)
Okay, so I am planning on running a beautiful Tanganyika Cichlid tank, tank is a 48 gallon bow front. Also will be running a 25 gallon freshwater sump with it.
Planning on beautiful river rock for caves and black and white cichlid mix to maintain the Ph level. Also will be running 2 coralife power heads for significant water movement to keep everyone healthy and happy. This is the exact replica that my saltwater tank is, they are identical.
My question is I would like to start with Fairy Cichlids, although I am wondering what else I could put in there to make it as stunning as my saltwater.
Any suggestions?

It's not overly large, its a 48 US gallon, it's dimensions are 3ftx18 inches at the center, 12 inches at the side since it's a bow front and 28 inches in height, since you said that I am reconsidering. Any suggestions?

A group of Neolamprologus Pulcher "Daffodil" would look stunning once they've settled in. Species only though. Their family breeding units are amazing.
Or you could look at a good group of Tropheus (again, species only, unless you add a few goby-types, as they require specialist vegetable diets).
Or a small community. Shell dwellers like Lamprologus Ocellatus "Gold", julidochromis, maybe a leleupi or two?
I'd be tempted to set up a large sandy bottom tank for Enantiopus (not sure that's spelt right) species. Really cool behaviour. But rare.

That actually sounds really nice firefly, the substrate that I am going to be adding is Eco-Complete Cichlid Zack Black, I also have a black painted background and beautiful white river rock if I can find it :). I will posted a pic when it is completed. Thanks for the help
