Betta is old..might wait a bit longer then.
Nerites wouldn't eat the snail?

[You meant shrimp here I am guessing] No, I have Nerites and shrimp in several tanks it's a non issue. Nerites eat algae.
Gas mileage isn't everything OIIIIIIIO
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.
A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.

Oh, yeah I did--tired. I've seen snails eat dead fish, so I wasn't sure if they'd go for shrimp.

Except tank dirtiness. They'll completely destroy that.

Have 3 horned nerite snails in my shrimp tank. They don't brother my shrimps or dwarf crayfish. My tank and plants are squeaky clean from algae.

Decided to add some hornwort, and give shrimps a go, hoping the extra hiding space keeps 'em safe. I bought 4, have only seen 3 in the last few days, but the fourth might just be hiding. If it doesn't work out, I tried.
If/when the betta goes, I'm going to turn this into a shrimparium, and might introduce an ADF or two to keep the numbers reasonable after I have a bloom or two. :)
