NOT QUITE impulse buy
I figured since everyone's sharing their impulse buys lately...
I was at my LFS today to pick up some fish food. In their tanks for sale section they had a 300 gallon acrylic aquarium. It had gone on sale for $2500 but the price was slashed all the way down to $600. I have more than that saved up toward the 180 gallon tank I plan to get eventually. Tank has some scratches on the front but I know how to polish those... I'd have to build a stand, and a sump... nah. I've grown somewhat disenchanted with my 75 gallon acrylic tank, and I really don't want to have to buy a snorkel to do tank maintenance.300 gallon mega tank: build in progress
75 gallon community tank: tetras, danios, corys, platies, otos, pearl gouramis, bristlenose pleco, assassin snails, red cherry shrimp, bamboo shrimp
70 gallon growout tank: clown loaches, sailfin pleco
60 gallon goldfish tank: fancy goldfish
29 gallon frog tank: 1 bullfrog
10 gallon and 5.5 gallon betta tanks: 1 male betta each, sometimes snails

I don't think so Crispy, because it would be in my house right now
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I'd love a tank that size...but the prospect of setting up a sump frightens me!

Once you have set up a sump, you will see how easy it can be to set one up and use one. Nothing t be afraid of really

I've seen videos...a big tank with cascading water from one section to another...all open topped. How do you stop them from either overflowing or running dry? I don't get it. LOL

The only way you could run out of water is through evaporation. It won't overflow if you plan it correctly

Lets see; a couch in the living room or a 300 gallon tank? That is one tough decision.
By the way whats wrong with putting on a diving mask and snorkel to clean a tank?
Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..
Please remember; every keystroke has a consequence.
