Arrow My Bogwood is Oozing Slime!

    0 Not allowed!
My nano tank has been set up just over 24 hours. Bogwood was boiled for 4 hours and soaked for two days in a bucket prior to set-up.

This section of the wood appears to be oozing some sort of slime. Look:

This bit is where there is a crack (which I widened slightly at the top to hold a bamboo skewer) and this is oozing something too (see the slight foggy "drip" on the side of the trunk):

I've not poked these slime pockets yet (with a stick) so cannot confirm yet if they are really slime...or maybe a wood oil?

    Fascinating...anyone seen this before?

very common with new driftwood. it's harmless and will go away on it's own, or you can wipe it off.

    Harmless and inconsequential.
    Gas mileage isn't everything OIIIIIIIO
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.

A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.

In all my years of fish keeping...I've never seen it.

Probably due to my recent obsession with monitoring and documenting every change in an empty tank

Aww and I removed the pecan that I prepared from my backyard for doing the same thing.... well now I know those pecan trees are safe (after they dry out and are prepared of cores)
