Blood parrots and green terrors?
It's been both good news and bad news that I've had to delay getting my 90 up and running. Thought I had a stocking plan - then discovered a new (to me) LFS with tons of variety and healthy stock.
I was looking at both blood parrots and severums and wondering if they could be tank mates then found a thread here somewhere that says they can be. so that's good.
How many of each could one safely house in a 90 gal?
And would there be room for anything else - like a pleco or corys?
Also - what about green terrors and blood parrots? Are they compatible?
Same vein - would Turquoise Jewels and Blood Parrots work together?

thanks. Appreciate it.
In a 90 gal - what would you recommend for stocking numbers of the Blood parrots and Severums? Would 1 severum and 2 - 3 parrots work?
And if I do end up going that route, any other suggestions for fish that could round out the tank?
again - thanks

Oh - that sounds like a nice mix.
But was also wondering about congo tetras. Would they fit in the Severums?
Any room left for some cleaner fish? A cat or two? Saw a really nice gold algae eater today.
Don't want to over stock so if I don't need the cleaners I'd be good with that.
again - I appreciate the help.

also just saw a video of a blood parrot and a firemouth supposedly spawning. Whether they were or not, they were in the same tank together. so - would a blood parrot and firemouth also be good tank mates?
Obviously still exploring options :o(

Fish are strange, for sure. They also hated my featherfins so I removed the catfish and dropped in Bristlenose and the parrots pay no attention to them. I have added my angelfish to their tank on a few occassions when I need to do something in the angels tank and the parrots don't even look at him.
They've been with silver dollars, tetra's and rainbows also without any glances but there was something about the firemouths and featherfin they just didn't like in their tank. My thinking is that both the catfish and the firemouths invaded their hiding area's but who knows?

Personally, I think 2 severums are about your limit with a 90g in terms of bioload. This allows you to only do a single 50% waterchange a week once they hit 1 year of age. Adding the 3 blood parrots to the mix would mean doing more than at least 2 water changes of 50% a week once they all hit 1 year old.
