Thread: Planted Nano Shrimp Tank

I've not updated this journal for ages. What better way than with a few photos?
I've not really monitored this tank closely for a long time. I still do the usual maintenance routine of course - but I've lost so many shrimp I've decided not to add to it any more. Well...looks what it's crawling with now...
With more to come it seems!

You'll see all my shrimp have hybridised. I rather like the rili x cherry hybrid look.
There is one swimming around the tank somewhere that is totally transparent. Really cool looking - although I've not managed a photo of it yet.
Here's a full tank shot, not particularly exciting, but things are still growing well enough.

It's been a while since I updated this. This tank has been through a few changes. Today was a major rescape day.
I completely took the tank down (60-70 shrimp caught and put in a holding crate overnight with filter, heater and plants). The substrate was thoroughly washed through and the underlayer of soil was washed out of it. The tank had been through so many changes the undersoil was leaking into the water column which made it look muddy all the time. I'd purchased a new piece of redmoor root wood and had that boiling on the hob all day yesterday to waterlog it. I also bought some dragon stone for the new scape.
I'm going to try to find some more small crypts for the back right-hand side.
Front view. I threw out a lot of plants and only kept a few. Here's the rescape, a bit cloudy but it'll clear. Just needs to grow in now.
Side view. The heater is a bit of an eyesore but I'll hide that with leaves or behind the plants as they grow in, I think.
Here's one of the (RCSxRili) hybrid shrimp carrying eggs.
