Fishless Cycling question
I have everything set up and have added 5ml of ammonia to my 36 gallon and it looks like I'm at 4-5 ppm ammonia level. What do I do next. I read the cycling thread that said do nothing. But then it said to add ammonia each day. Do I need to add more everyday starting now or just when I start to see nitrites?

It says do nothing for about 4-5 days and then began testing daily.

When your nitrites spike your ammonia will fall shortly after. When that happens only add half of what you added the first time which would be 2ppm once per 24hrs even if the ammonia is gone in 6hrs which will happen as the cycle gets really going still only add once per 24hrs.

Wait until the ammonia to fall to 0ppm to add more. Once the nitrite appears the ammonia will start to disappear faster, that is when you will need to dose daily, but like MetalMike says, only once a day no matter how fast it drops.
