    Default No Algae Even Under Direct Sunlight

    Hi guys! I just want to share my outdoor tank. It's been more than a moth since setup and to save electricity I have placed this under direct sunlight from sunrise to sunset. I only have a medium sized sponge filter and seldom do water changes. Maybe just once every week and sometimes once in two weeks. I still don't have algae problems because of my faithful shrimps and nerite snails.

    Thanks! I do not know its common name but I do know it is Hydrocotyl tripartita.

    Thank for appreciating. Yes it has been under direct sunlight for more than a month. The tank before this on this same spot ws several months and also no alge problems. I do not worry bout algae at all! I seldom to water change and my filter is just a very cheap medium sized sponge filter.

    WOW... just wow! I like the look of your tank, and I'm kind of jealous as you don't have algae even in direct sunlight!

    Maybe because you have lots of plants in there? Oh and you have snails and shrimps too that might help preventing any algae from being seen.

    Thanks Paul! You're right its because of the Shrimps and Snails. Even without plants my outdoor tanks donot have algae because of them. This tank is even dosed with fertz and 3-5bps of CO2.

    Thanks. Its a mangrove root turned upsidedown and the leaves are Hydrocotyle tripartita. :-) Just to be different from the usual moss leaves
