Killies in a hex tank?
Just gonna keep it short n sweet so here it is: been reading up on the killie fish in general but am woried that a killie won't do well in the 20 gal hex i have to work with because of the small surface area. If they will work what type would you recomend?

What kind of killie did you plan on keeping? A smaller species MIGHT be alright to keep, or at least that's what I read in a book on smaller aquariums. Just one though, as my experience in a 50 g was that keeping more than one golden panchax male resulted in aggression. They definitely keep to the top of the tank most of the time so you want to avoid cramping them by housing too many in your hex.

Also I don't know if you have enough space in a hex to avoid the aggression by stocking a ratio of 1:2 males to females as is commonly recommended; again, they might just be too cramped in a hex. For example even my docile chocolate gouramis became aggressive towards each other when they were forced to share surface area in a hex.
