Marmorkreb or P. Alleni
Is it possible to tell if this is a marmorkreb (self cloning) or p. alleni just based on this picture? I can provide more pics at some point if needed...

Hmm... I don't want to make any wild guesses, but here is a link to a publication you may find useful.
Martin et al., 2010. Interesting about what they found when looking at DNA...
The main reason I linked this was for you to check out Fig.3 in this paper. Also, keep in mind that there can be individual variation as well. But if I had to give an opinion, I'd say that yours look more like P. marmorkreb.Last edited by UncleWillie; 08-02-2012 at 03:03 PM.

Thank you. I'm actually hoping that they are marmorkrebs; I bought them under the guise that they were. I just want to make sure I wasn't lied to. I hate to even worry about that in the first place, but I've read a few places that the advertised sales of blue marmorkrebs are often deceptive.
