    Hello Everyone . I Have A Question . My Wife And I Bought Two Blood Parrots A While Back .they Laid Eggs A Few Days Ago And Now They Are Gone From Where They Had Laid Them Can't Find Them In The Tank Anywhere. U Think The Fish Had Eaten Them ?

    Welcome,the fish ate them and it wouldnt matter anyway as BPs are sterile.

    Highly likely, especially if they were not viable.

    Most male blood parrots are infertile, so while they will lay eggs, the likelihood of fry is pretty slim.

    as in 99.999% of them are infertile. 100% of male Blood Parrots will NEVER lay an egg,its so sad!

    There are a few sporadic reports of them breeding, but very little verification. Kind of on the order of a fertile male calico cat.

    I have moved this from the Introduction thread to the cichlids threads.

    You will not get babies from these fish and that's what nice about having them. The female will breed with some others, tho, but the fish will not even resemble a blood parrot.
