bottom feeding mollies?
My mollies always ate food at the surface of the water, but one day I ran out of their food and just dropped in a few extra pellets of the cory food for them to eat. Once I got new flake food and blood worms though, they now swim up for food but they don't eat it until it sinks.( They nip at the corys food too now and then too but they share pretty well. Mostly they just eat their food when it finially makes it to the bottom. ) The mollies fry eat at the surface usually, but some have started to follow the adults example.
Is the current the filter makes too strong? I this just something they do? I'm not worried about it because they otherwise swim around like normal, I just thought it was weird. Any one else have bottom feeding mollies?

Relax, It's perfectly normal.
I feed pellets to my feeder mollies and they just chase them right down and then forage around to see what is there.

I hope it's 2 girls and a boy and the girls are not too stressed, Or all boys.
If not, Might want to up the girls numbers a bit if possible. It helps to spread out the boys mating aggression a bit.

Two girls one boy. they get along well, although one of the ladies (not the pregnant one at the time)was bullying the other two for a while but I just changed the decore to give more cover and hiding space so everybodies happier.
I thought if you had all boys they'd pick on each other all the time?

Sometimes yeah but it's more give and take than the way they relentlessly chase the girls.

I may look into it further then. I wouldn't mind all male mollies if they'd get along reasonably well.

I just realized I don't know how big of a tank this is? Is there other stock?
I should add that my mollys live in a heavily planted tank so there is tons of cover and this helps immensely.

That's ok, it seems that kind of info is usually just offered up but I didn't think about it either.
Its really small. Only 10g :c its just them and two albino cories. Not planted yet because I can't aford that (the only lfs that sells plants near me charges an arm and a leg for sickly looking algea covered plants), but I figured frequent water changes and a strong filter would make up for it for a while. The fry usually I give away to friends who mostly use them as feeders once they get big enough.

Yeah I was gonna ask about the fry because it is a non-stop parade.
I actually feed my Oscar weekly from my molly tanks.
