Crickets
So, with my recent purchase of a Fire Belly Toad, I also purchased crickets for it to consume. At times some of these crickets will indeed die before entering the paludarium, and thus the FBT won't accept them.
So, I was wondering, instead of letting a small portion of cricket-investment go to waste, would it be alright to sparingly try feeding the already-dead crickets to my fish tanks instead? Though possibly chopped up a little considering all my insectivores and carnivores have rather small mouths these days.
A severe lack of trichogaster.
Just because your Gourami is sick does not mean it is always Iridovirus, DGIV, Gourami Disease, et cetera.
Look at all the other factors in your tank before coming to this conclusion.

as long as they can eat the pieces and it doesn't make too much of a mess, insects are good as a part of most fish's diets.

I do not see why not. I would only try one cricket at a time so ensure they will eat it. And of course net out any uneaten pieces. I would try it :)

It'll be great. My archers eat 75-100 large crickets a week. The puffer usually snags a few too. I throw any extras or escapees in with the cichlids. No problems here so far.

Only bad story I've seen from my research is supposedly someone's fish choked on a cricket after eating too many. But they added a full dozen the very first time trying to feed them crickets, so I think that was more poor planning than making feeding them a bad idea.
