Time to add some stock! 40gal breeder
I've had my 40gal breeder set up now for about 8 months now. Things have been going great-minus a few sad deaths. But here is the current stock.
7 Silver Tip Tetras (had 10-but 3 bad ones in the batch)
2 Male Guppies-not buying anymore guppies-local petco has the worst guppy's i've ever seen. fish come in on fridays, and near half their guppies die by sunday)
2 Male Swords
1 Male Electric Blue Ram (Had another-but the male bullied the other to death)
1 Dwarf Gourami-the pig/bully of the tank
1 BN Pleco
The tank gets 25-40% PWC weekly (pending how energetic I am )
Filters: 2 HOB MarineLand Penguin 200 filters.
Kept at 82deg (We have been in a 60day dry spell of 90+ deg temps... ugh)-but fish are happy as can be in that temp!
Highly planted -still working on getting the plants to grow like crazy.
So I'm wanting to add the following stock:
5 Silver Tip tetras (for a grand total of 12)
6 Cory's-not sure which kind the petco has. (other lfs doesn't have this fish)
With these Additions-Aqadvisor says the tank is at 73% stocking.
Would I be okay/have a happy community tank? up the tetra's to 15? 20?
I'm going to go look at petco tomorrow to see which cory's are available.
Thoughts/comments/concerns? I'm open to anything/everything.
(oh, while at petco tomorrow-i'll more than likely get stuff for a QT tank-realize i've probably been really lucky with my direct adds-and with the tank being solid now-i dont wanna risk it---so i'll get a 5/10gal pending price)

Silvertips are nice tetras, I would say get them upto 15 BUT IMO 25% PWC aint big/good enough on any tank. Unless you icrease them to regular weekly changes of 50-75% would leave your stock as is.
What's the filters rated upto? Like G'sMy therapist says I need a bigger tank . . . . .

I just took the amount of water out that would still keep the filters running.lol. I can do 50% min pwc weekly easy!
And I believe each filter does 200gal/hr, so total of 400. They give the tank a decent current that my fish seem to enjoy

Just got back from petco with more tetra's.
But they were out of stock for their cory cats.
The only ones available there were 3 emerald green cory cats.
I wasn't to keen on their color and held off to do more research.
Butttttt my local petco went allll out on new fish.
they had a freshwater eel, electric blue rams, green spotted puffer, gold spotted pleco, discus, silver dollars.
It was crazy to see that amount of new fish!
Prior to this-they just had the norm community: swords, platys, multiple tetras, assorted cichlids.
So big change.
