  1. Default kirbensis cichlids

Can someone please help me. I posted earlier today about a non schooling fish i could put in my 60 gallon. someone suggest a pair of kirbensis cichlids. I really liked the idea but when i started to research i got mixed reviews. Some said they would kill my barbs, some said they lived peacefully together. I just dont know. Anyone have experience with this combo or other suggestions please

I have a breeding pair of kribensis. They are aggressive but only if there isn't fish to chase, so in my opinion keeping them with barbs would be perfect
    My therapist says I need a bigger tank . . . . .

I too have had a pair of Kribs in a 29 gallon tank with Cherry Barbs and all was good even when the Kribs had a brood going. Cherries are way slower then Tigers so I would say your ok.

I would be more concerned for your 1 Molly and 1 guppy if they are still in that tank.
Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..

Please remember; every keystroke has a consequence.

I went to one of my LPS today and checked out what they had in stock for cichlids. The ones i liked the most were the electric yellow cichlids. Is there a difference which one i add to my tank?

Yes, electric yellows are from african and require vastly different pH to you barbs/mollies etc. They need a larg f-m ratio and I think you need a minimum 55G to house them. Do some research and you will see what I mean.

Kribensis are fine but will get territorial when breeding - this isn't really a problem if you have schooling fish as they won't focus on one or catch them - if you have other cichlids, catfish, loaches or gouramis it might be a problem - you could always try a keyhole cichlid or a ram if your water quality is good

    Bolivian Rams are great
