20 gallon tank invertebrates only
so my boyfriend is in love with his female crayfish, and wants her to have more room, and wants to get more. and get crabs *eye roll* give them an inch and they take a mile. ;)
so got tons of creek rock. and we have a pretty good method of cleaning them. we throwing them in our fire pit on top of a cinder block. and gonna fill this tank with tons of caves walls and crevices, like the turtle basking wall his crayfish lives in now. you won't see alot of water but you see the animal so it makes him happy.
he's thinking to go with his $2 common crayfish, a blue lobster. but i'm gonna let him look at online options not just the local chain fish store. before he decides. though knowing him, one of each color is what he'll want but not necessarily be getting.
so in a 20gallon tank, i'd like to know how many crayfish he can have? massive amounts of hiding places being allowed.
also if we have dry land on this tank, view drift wood and stones. can he have crabs in it too? if so what kinds?
how many crayfish in a 20gallon

I don't know a lot about keeping crayfish as pets so someone else can correct me but I think with multiple crayfish in a tank you're eventually going to end up with a single (well-fed) specimen. There's a reason seafood places put rubber bands on the claws of all the lobsters in the tank...300 gallon mega tank: sailfin pleco, clown loaches, silver dollars, roseline sharks, congo tetras, new world cichlids
125 gallon office tank: Africian cichlids, synodontis catfih
75 gallon community tank: bolivian rams, black skirt tetras, dwarf neon rainbowfish, corys, harlequin rasboras, otos, bristlenose and bulldog plecos, assassin snails, various shrimp
60 gallon goldfish tank: fancy goldfish

Several in the same tank can work well but they need of be of a similar size. Sex is not important, just the size.Do as I say. Not as I do.

i'd also make sure that you get a fresh water crab speices and not a fiddler that requires brackish water to live happly and for much longer ;)
that was my first mistake when i got in to the hobbie let my boyfriend get a "fresh water crab" it was a fiddler so i had to get a whole other tank and set up a brackish envoiroment for it.10gx2 brackish & applesnail grow out
60gx2 - Crayfish snail male guppy holder/yabby craw
75g (long) -red fin shark, golden angel fish Ghost shrimp neon tetras
