  1. Question Need help with Female Molly! Please

I recently got a pair of Sailfin Mollies. The male died this morning so I went and got an Orange Lyretail Molly male hopeing she would take a liking to him. Well, she keeps chasing him around and won't let him do a thing. Also, I have a small orange algae eater and she follows him around and is starting to try to mate with him. The male molly is also laying on the floor of the tank and whenever he gets up she is right after him again. So, I don't know what to do. Should I try a different male or get another female or what? Thanks for your time.

What are the parameters on your tank? Filteration, size, etc?

Are you SURE your mollies are male/female? Your "female" sounds a lot like how a male acts...females are not the aggressors when it comes to mating. Aso, a ration of one male to 2-3 females is recommended because the male will harass a single female to exhausion trying to mate...which is exactly what this sounds like. I think you have your sexes confused.

Also, how new is your tank? Are you cycled?
10 gallon with a veiltail betta, 7 neons, 1 ADF, and one neat moss ball.

20 gallon with 6 female black phantoms, and 1 schwartzi cory
