Emerald Crabs...
In the past, I have kept emerald crabs in my reef to help out w/ clean-up (no problems). But recently I've wanted to add 1 or 2 to my fuge because there has been algae growing on the lr in there and the red legs are ignoring it. Here's the catch... I have a pom pom crab in the fuge too, and the kid at the store told me the emerald would attack it. Anyone agree w/ him, because I don't see it, but don't want to chance it? Also, the refugium is only 15 gallons.

ems arent going to be much more help with algae cleanup then herms are. more cuc means more bioload, more bioload means more fuel for algae. Take your rocks out of the sump every other week and give them a good scrub and swish, thats the best way.

I think emerald crabs are better consumers of nuisance algae than hermit crabs are.
Not sure about the compatibility of emeralds with pom-pom crabs.
