I'm glad all is fine Lady Hobbs but I still say Blood parrots are one homely looking fish.

LOLOL That's OK. Ya know what they say about "only a mother can love it?"
And I think Betta's are homely, so there! :)Cycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

LM@O. Nice come back Lady Hobbs.
By the way I agree with your Betta observation. That is why I never had one before my wife insisted. They are not as stream line as a tetra but they are entertaining.Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..

Glad your BP is okay and I beg to differ on Strider's homely comment. I've been studying them at my LFS every time I go in (drooling and waiting until I can stock my 90 gal) and I've decided they are Adorable!!
Such a face. I've decided to absolutely get some for my 90 gal.
Is there a 'best' number to keep in mind when stocking? A pair minimum or does one do well by itself?
BTW - I know I'm one of the few dwarf gourami fans on the forum but I love them and the other day my little blue (he's always getting himself in a fix) got stuck in a hole in a fake rock/driftwood piece that he has always skimmed through - apparently he's grown enough that he can't fit anymore. Just by accident, I saw him. Took both my hubby and me to get him out without hurting him. This is the same little guy who got sucked up in my vacuum the first time I used it. :o( and was sick for a week, sort of floating at the top. That was 2 months ago. Starting to think he's like a cat with 9 lives.30 gal FW:dw gourami, cory cats, ABN pleco, Colombian & Serpae tetra, nerites & mystery snails

Decor falling over is why most people silcon those rock decorations together. I know of one case where someone didn't and his fish cracked the front window of an 800 liter.
