Need some advice

I currently have a 20 gallon tank with a pearlscale goldfish.

I feel bad for the lonely pearlscale so I want a bigger tank and other goldfishs that are compatible with the pearlscale.

What goldfishs are good with a pearlscale about 4 inchs long including tail and what size tank to get and how many goldfish would fit.

For every 10 gal you add, you can add 1 goldfish.

Lionheads, ranchus, telescopics (dragon eyes, black moors), ryukins, celestials, etc.. Basically, almost any fancy goldfish will be fine, but not fantails. You need something that isn't too fast a swimmer so that they won't out compete the pearlscale for food.

Also, your fish is very happy alone; however, if you do get a bigger tank, and you get a compatible breed, it will be happy too.

I'am not all that worried about the perlscale being alone.
I have to admit, I just want more fish:)
I want a larger aquarium to keep goldfish and I wanted to use the 20 gallon for a few pea puffers.

Great plan! 20 gals is great for microfish. Larger tanks are easier to maintain and with 2-3 goldfish, they are a joy to watch. Avoid tall tanks (higher than wide). 50gal tanks of standard dimensions are usually good. I have a 90gal, but it is 2 feet tall. Not too tall, but I would prefer more surface area.

The pea puffers in big al's are actually larger then normal sized i think they are about 2 inchs how many do you think will fit my 20g?

Also I know i have only had the pearlscale for 2 months or so but I have noticed it growing at a fast speed. I was about 2.5 inchs when i bought it but now its 4 inchs how is this possible?

I know very little about other kinds of fish. If you have questions about pea puffers and their bioload, you might need to check the related section in the forums. I don't even know what family they are in.

As for the pearscale, if it isn't stunted, it should hit 5-6 inches in its first year. Food, space and good water quality will make any goldfish breed over 5 inches in the first year of life. Goldfish live over a decade... don't worry, their growth slows down at 1-2 years old.

I've seen goldfish go from egg to 5 inches in 9 months.

wow 5 inchs in 9months is crazy! I thought maybe the food i was giving it has too much protein thats why it was growing so fast but if it is normal den i'am not worried.

No problem! I want to see more people taking the time to make sure their goldfish are in large tanks with clean water and loads of nom nom food. Goldfish need love, and many one day people will stop buying bowls or stunting them in low quality water.

Many people do not know the needs of a goldfish and that is because of the people who are selling them! they do not educate people but only lie so that they can make money!

I must admit that I too did not know much about them I went into the fish store wanting at least 7 goldfish for my 20 gallon but thank God the guy at big al's suggested only two for me which was still too many.

I'am embarrised to say that I also had a comet goldfish as a kid that lived in a 2gallon bowl for 5 years until it commited suicide for jumping out:(
