  1. Default Bait shop Inspired tank

Recently I stopped at a gas station and while I was walking around I heard running water. I instantly knew they had some kind of fish tank. I went over there and saw that instead of fancy aquariums and bait tanks they had taken those big plastic tub sinks on legs that you sometime see in laundry rooms. I thought this was a great way to get a medium sized tank for relatively little cost.

I was wondering what everyone thought of this and if you could possibly cut out a section and replace it with plexi glass kind of like a ply wood tank?

Here is a link to a tub similar to the ones I saw

It is possible for a window to be cut out and replaced with a piece of acrylic. The sealant would need to be a substance that bonds well with plastic. Silicone wont work

Some fish wholesalers use plastic laundry tubs for "small" holding tanks.
They have a drain hole in place already.
Stick in a riser for surface skimming, and continuous fill along the top. They are a breeze to empty completely, and sterilize.

I wouldn't risk putting a viewing window into that cheap flimsy plastic tub.

A tube that plugs into the drain hole, and rises up to some point. The end usually has drain holes drilled around the top to allow surface water to skim into the riser, and out the drain.

There are different grades of laundry tubs. Some are very flimsy and cheap. There are thicker walled versions that could be cut for a window, but a used tank would be less expensive and visible from four sides.
