I just started my fishless cycle a Aqueon 40g breeder 36.2" x 18.3" x 17",I noticed it bows out a little..i bought it new last week,it doesnt have the center brace.and why it wouldnt have one and some would...is this normal on these tanks..

Did you buy it used or new? If used, it might be that the brace has been broken.
Though, I have never owned a 40G "breeder" so I can't really tell. I do know that regular 40G have the center brace though.
Conclusion is, if it is bowing, I will not use it.

If the glass is bowing sooner or later it will fail and 40 gallons is a lot of water (besides fish!) Take it back and get one if a brace or thicker glass.
Knowledge is fun(damental)
A 75 gal with eight Discus, fake plants, and a lot of wood also with sand substrate. Clean up crew is down to just two Sterba's Corys. Filters: continuous new water flow; canister w/UV, in-tank algae scrubber!! Finally, junked the nitrate removal unit from hell.

It may not have a brace because breeder tanks and not as high but bowing would concern me, as well. Aqueons are good tanks so this surprises me a little. You could call customer support and see what they say about this.

I have not seen a 40B with a cross brace, Is it possible it is a critter cage {IE: Reptile} instead?
Gas mileage isn't everything OIIIIIIIO
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.
A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.

Is this by any chance the same tank you were planning on fixing in this thread from last February?
