Im going to be making one of these for my 55g tank how big should it be? I was thinking maybe cutting a 2leiter in half using the bottom half? Thanks

I was just thinking of using a glass canning jar. It would be smaller than half the 2lt but heavyer from the glass. Then I could add rocks on the bottom for extra weight.

is a link to good quality sponge filters at good prices. I'd encourage you to put two of the #5 in your 55g tank.
