Thread: Similar Size?

    Default Similar Size?

Hello, I am currently working on a stocking plan for a 6x2x2 180 gallon aquarium. While all of the fish I have decided to introduce to the aquarium are considered very peaceful at best, or peaceful at worst most of them are stated to require tank mates of similar size. With this in mind are 1", 2", & 3" fish considered to be of "similar" size.

the rule to remember is that if one fish will fit in another fish's mouth, there's a good bet that sooner or later it will end up there.

Peaceful fish will not attack other fish, take bites out of them, kill them, etc, but no fish is above sucking down something small enough to swallow that wanders in front of it.

+1 to everything brhino said. I have a 3 1/2" pike cichlid that would suck down a 1" neon in the blink of an eye if given the chance. Its all about mouth size.
