LFS driftwood
I just got home from a driftwood shopping spree
I bought 5 pieces in total and I think its was a good bargain.
One of the pieces came straight out one of their display tank that was housing one healthy severum. The wood has been in their for more than a month.
My question is, how do I go about preserving the beneficial bacteria that has been colonized on this piece of wood? I want to use it to seed my new tank.
It is still wet and in the bag that salesperson put it in for me. She actually sold it to me for less then the dry wood.
Please advice asap and thank you all in advance

Most if not all BB is in the filter. However, to keep the small amount that is on the driftwood, make sure it doesn't dry out and get it back in with fish as soon as you can.

No problem. It's good to ask if you're unsure.

seeds
here it is in my 30 gallon along with a bunch of other seeding material I have been cooking for a few weeks now. I am hoping to speed the cycle on the 75 gallon as much as possible.
I also have an extra AC20 that has been running for 2 month. I plan to use all that filter media as well.
Thanks again

Looks nice. When I cycle a tank, I steal wood from my other tanks, too. Lots of goodies on that wood. Is there room for that bag of gravel in your filter? water running thru it might help more.

Your LSF must be cleaner than mine. I don't think id put any driftwood they had in their tanks directly in my tank unless it passed through the center of the sun first lol.

Oh yea, this LSF is real good. They have a huge selection and the fish are all very active and well fed. The lady that runs the fish department treats the fish like her own. She has the staff constanlty checking and mainting all the tanks. The only downside is that the lfs is 30 mins away out on the Island. I should not complain, i know some folks in AC have to do road trips to get to an LFS. Hats off to those Hardcore hobbyist
