    Question Freshwater Mudskippers

    0 Not allowed!
Has anyone kept mudskippers? My LFS has had some freshwaters ones for a year now and they aren't getting sold. I been considering buying them, but that would involve setting up a new tank. Ever since I saw them I have been fascinated by the fugly little fish.

Before I got to the expense and effort of a new tank I was wondering if anyone here had experience with these unusual amphibious fish? Google info only shows ya the bare bones info, nothing beats hands on experience.

No such thing as freshwater mudskippers. The OCCASIONALLY go into freshwater, but mudskippers are brackish water fish. All species of them are.

Usually when they have to put 'freshwater' in the name they are trying to convince you.

I actually have one that came from a creek that is pure fresh water ( I am way to inland to have brackish water in a creek) this is the only place I have seen them and not sure what type of mud skipper it is .was actually looking for some photos to identify it , but there is no denying the goby family could possibly be some type of freshwater goby that walks on its pectoral fins but have always known them as mud skippers have photo just cant get it loaded will try later most likely will return it to the wild if i cant find any info on it dont want it starving to death and it is a hider
