banded bush fish?
ok so a while back i was considering the leopard bush fish for my 55g (a pair with my raphael cat. now i cant find them any where at all. so i was thinking of placing an order with wetspot for a pair of banded bush fish and a single blue paradise. from all my reading the banded bush fish grow to about 3.5" and prefer live foods. was thinking small guppys and shrimps (amano or cherry not sure.) also from the my readings they are ambush preds. the paradise fish from my readings will also enjoy chowing on shrimp and small guppies.
will the paradise fish out predate all the food for the bush fish?
im kicking myself in the tail for asking cause i wanted this to be a surprise but oh well
btw this is a 55g and will be heavily planted and lightly stocked. going all naturalKING OF THE GOLD BARBS RAWR!!!!

I would go with the bushfish,or three. The paradise fish is "probably"to aggressive for this little ctenopoma.Definitely a harder to find anabantoid species.

I dont want to do too many as ive read thy can be aggressive to each other. Is there another colorful fish similar to the paradise that i could get? Maybe a pair of dwarf cichlids. The only bottom fish in the tank would be my raph.... Maybe some otos fpr algae or a single bn later.

Similar as far as color? How about a school of medium to large rainbowfish. The lively swimming would make the bushfish more comfortable to appear in the open.I saw some beautiful steatocranus tinanti lately.

i want to keep the stocking on the smaller size. so lively swimming fish make them more comfortable? thanks for all the input
how do you think a pair of kribs would do? just doing some reading now so i dont know much about them
edit: seems like my plants would be at risk with them.... back to other options lolLast edited by genocidex; 07-01-2012 at 02:56 AM.
