Thanks. I really missed it. I was certain the entire site was down but must just be hit and miss who was affected. I even tried a different browser this morning and still couldn't get on. Decided to try again around lunch and it was like nothing had ever been wrong. strange.

That's what I love about the BN pleco. He's so visible and not a bit shy. I never have to look for him, he's always front and center. very entertaining fish.

photos of the GBR's :)
As promised here are photos of my new rams. This one is the most colorful although this photo doesn't catch all the nuances. his body is much more blue - all depends on the light

This one is a pretty good likeness color wise. sometimes this guy shows a little more black on the very front of it's dorsal but other than that, I only occasionally see a spot of black in its midsection.

Both are super sweet and are constantly changing colors. I so hope I can keep them going. Anyone care to hazard a guess as to whether they're males or females or one of each? I'm stumped.Last edited by fishmommie; 11-28-2012 at 11:35 PM.

That's pretty much what I've been thinking. Wish I had a better camera. Do you know if 2 males will work or is it a bad idea?

Beautiful GBRs, FM!
I'm pretty sure two males will squabble over territory - especially in a 30gal.
Sorry to hear about your Silver Dollars. At least it was an obvious behavior change once you added them, so you knew what the problem was. Glad you could address the issue pretty quickly and not have to suffer any stress-related deaths.
In my experience, Silver Dollars are extremely active. Not sure what the normal behavior patterns are rumored to be for them, but I remember my parents had one or two when I was a kid. They terrorized the entire tank.
All of this trouble with GBRs is leading me to consider something else. lol First, Mandy, now Gogi (and I would have considered Gogi the go-to for GBRs, because of his success with getting them to breed). Hopefully you have a better outcome.

I know. I hesitated for a long time. still hopeful. Now wondering if I shouldn't go back to the LFS and buy 2 females and put one pair in my 90. think that would work?
