its alrite to change the water and clean ure fish tank with the fish in it rite? i clean and change water once a week. btw i clean about 3/4 of tank.

i do a 10 to 25 % water change a week!

make sure water same temperature as tank water.

i learned that the hard way...my tilipia jumped out cause the water was too hot!

Actually when I change the water I put colder water in because
1. It takes like 30 minutes for our water heater to warm up the water
2. My aquarium is constantly like 75 degrees when I want it to be like 60 (i have goldfish)

How does that effect the temperature in the tank. Rapid changes isn't god even if you would want to change the temp in it. A change of just 1 degree can damage your fish if it happens to quickly.

how do you get the new water to be the same temp as the aquarium water? i just try to guess, to the best my finger can sense the temperature.

You can use an aquarium termometer (they are cheap) to mix water with the right temperature.
