YVW, Tell him I am a fan of [Amongst others] Mies Can Der Rohe[I grew up about 45 minutes from the Farnsworth House - He will know of it ;-D ], Groupius, Mid-Century Modern and Bauhaus design.

Back to the topic at hand:

Btw - Corys do not eat algae.

You refer to a mag-float or similar which is needed sure but I am certain Cermet was referring to a slightly more complicated thing with a similar name, Here is a DIY version:

One that I am sure you do not want hanging about on your tank .
    Gas mileage isn't everything OIIIIIIIO
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.

A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.

Coincidentally, we decided last night to go to chicago area in the Fall to check out Farnsworth House & other iconic Illinois mod architecture. Ron (husband & partner in arc firm) can do structural calc's, build bldgs, take apart/put back together computers & anything mechanical or automotive -- but refused to consider that DIY algae scrubber. Was ROFL. said best part was TV dinner plastic microwave tray, remarking: "who knew Marcel Duchamp was inspired by aquarium eqpmt?

I was sure you didn't want that in your tank :-P. [They ARE effective though]

I am always on the lookout for an Eames sponge filter ;-D

I'm confident Eames estate will not produce sponge filters.
Ron, however, once he stopped laughing, said to tell you that given all the crap Frank Lloyd Wright's estate has licensed w/ the name of that famously ill-humored, contemptuous architect who was belligerently protective of his image (Xmas tree ornaments, napkin rings, biz card case), a FLW sponge should be proposed ASAP.
