I read somewhere on a review site, a good pH decrease formula is actually made by topfin. Just looked it up again on Petsmart.com to make sure that was right, it also has a 5 star review from a "Top 100 Reviewer". Its not too expensive either.

But for the long run, like Dave said, a PUR filter might help a lot. You could probably find some pretty cheap on ebay or another online site.

    Goodluck with your fish!

I think this thread would be ok for me to post my question.

After my fish being in thier new tank for a few weeks my pH has suddenly dropped to 7.4 or lower.
It was at a consistant 8.0 for the past few weeks and all i have been doing is one water change weekly.

Any ideas as to why this is?

Hmmm Im not sure why it would have dropped so suddenly. I did ask if it would decline slowly after the coral i have was in the tank for a while. I was told it would be such a slight change it wouldnt harm the fish. But the drop in like 2 days from 8.0 to 7.4 worries me. I guess i will wait for Dave66 to come answer:P He should know something about it :)

Check the pH of the tap water. It might have changed. If you've done nothing else to the tank ... hard to think what it would be.
