How many fish to cycle with?
I am going to cycle a 75 gal tank. With a tank that large, can I cycle with a dozen zebra danio? Or start with less? A half dozen?

+1 - that's a larger tank and you need enough fish to produce enough ammonia to start bacteria growing, but not too many that there's too much ammonia because then you're taxing a filter that can't process it yet and it'll build up fast.46 gal fw tank with black skirt tetras, neon tetras, spotted corys, green corys, 1 guppy, cherry barbs, otoclinus, snails & 4 amano shrimp - plastic & live plants
5 gal QT with green corys & 2 guppies

+1 to the above
Just to add another option, have you considered cycling the tank without any fish ?If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I'm with Cliff on this one. I could barely stand to do it fishless. I can't imagine having to do it with. Good luck!130g: 7 Angelfish, 1 Bolivian, 12 Neon Tetras, 14 Serpae Tetras, 9 Kuhli Loaches, 1 Otocinslus, 1 Corydora ? Ghost Shrimp
I've noticed that people HATE it when you point out how stupid they are, so now I try to do it politely.

I would get an ammonia and cycle this tank fishless instead of with fish. less problems for you and no stressed fish.Da name's Paul. Not Dave. ROFL
