Note: Paul, neons should really be held in quarantine for a couple weeks to make sure you aren't introducing ick to the tank. When you have numerous neons and they get ick, all will be affected and these fish do not do well with medications or heat treatments. It's not like losing two or three $3 fish but losing 20-30 of them. Even if the ick does not get them, the darned treatment will.
If you do not have a quarantine tank, make sure what you get comes from clean tanks with no ill fish in it. Make sure they all have good color and check them over very well adding no store water to your tank.
They are not suspectible to ick but they are just more difficult to treat should the need arrise.

wijnands: That tank... would be quite a sight to see.
LadyHobbs: Good points, when adding so many more fish surely I should be a bit more cautious. I'll definitely break out the old small filter and 10 gallon to quarantine them. I had no idea small fishes' bio-loads could be so supportable in such large groups. It will really be awesome to see them all grouped together in a future-heavily-heavily-planted tank...
