I will try to get more pics when they hatch.

I think this is the first time they have spawned as I have never observed this type of protective behavior from either the male or female.

The odds are certainly against the eggs/fry in a community tank like this with a lot of snails and crabs as well. However, I am hopeful a few of the eggs hatch and some of the fry make it. The anemone should offer some protection from the snails and crabs as it certainly has eaten more than it's far share of them over the past few years.
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Cliff.... I'm not a salt water guy (yet) but stuff like this could end up getting me in lots of trouble lol.

Between this and the double wall build that glarior is doing....

I think someday I want an eel like he has in one tank, and would love to do some clowns in another

    Thanks guys.

And yes, I am pretty happy about the whole thing. Between my Banggai cardnels and now clown fish, there is a whole lot of spawning going on !!!

I almost forgot, here are a few full tank pics. Not much has changed in the past few weeks other than my blue star polpys are starting to grow like weeds

I also have been watching a small leather frag that I have coloring up nicely over the past few weeks. It started out as a little brownish blob (about the size of a dime), but now more than trippled in size and has started to turn a nice purple color with yellow centers in the polyps. I’m not 100% sure on the exact type of leather, but it is some type of Australian leather

Super photos, Cliff. These really show off the colours.

Do you have corals growing on the top-left arch?

I'll have to try to get a better pic of that section. There currently are some clove polyps, red zoas, blue star polyps, and a green & yellow hammer coral on/attached to that top shelf.

I think the clown fish spawned again

The male is sticking to a small spot just under the red carpet anemone near the back and won't even come out too far away to eat (not further than a few inches). The female has taken to chasing away any and all fish the get close to the anemone again. It's kind of funny to watch a 9 inch tang get its but handed to him from a 3 inch clown fish

I will try and get some pics after today's water change

Yep definitely sounds like they are protecting a clutch of eggs. Don't most fish eggs hatch relatively quickly?
    Current tanks:

Clown fish eggs take about 5 to 7 days to hatch and you see the larva
